The work described in this blog was to build a miniaturized bridge with spaghetti that was tough. Given that this work had been done before for other students, the intention was to try not to make the mistakes of other bridges. My hypothesis is that probably our bridge can be stronger than the previous ones, but it depends on many factors such as the construction, material used or height, among many others...
There are many bridges around the world, and if we take a look, never or hardly never has come the news that a bridge has fallen by over cars on it. The advantage here is that we are studying the forces and structures and our intention is to try searching for the perfect bridge but with a size that we are not accustomed to see. Therefore, the main objective of the work is to build a spaghetti bridge that can withstand more times its own weight as posible.
The study had several small activities before the construction. First, we started doing some activities and the theory of forces, efforts and structures; then we started looking images of bridges; before that we made the sketches; and finally, the construction of the bridge and written work (the memory of the process).
To carry out the work, we had all the guidelines on the technology website of the institute and as I explained previously, we made also a small search to catch ideas. We also asked the teacher all the doubts and were solved all finally.
The whole experience helped me make this work in many ways and has shown me that any mistake can end up completely changing the outcome. For this reason, I invite you to read and enjoy my work.
